Welcome to Field Notes, the new home for plain-language perspective from White Whale Accounting. We started this blog for one simple reason: most financial advice is either too generic to be useful or too technical to act on. Here, we’re aiming for the middle ground — practical notes from the work we actually do with business owners, nonprofits, and individuals every week.

That work spans three areas. Bookkeeping and tax strategy keep your numbers accurate and your filings ahead of schedule. Fractional CFO thinking helps you plan pricing, cash runway, and growth decisions before they become urgent. And on the notary and signing side, we support everything from a single acknowledgment to full loan signing packages for title companies and escrow offices.

White Whale Accounting core services: bookkeeping, tax strategy, and notary and signing services

Going forward, expect Field Notes to cover the questions we hear most often — how to read your own financial statements, what to prep before a loan signing, when it’s time to move from bookkeeping to fractional CFO support, and the small process changes that save the most time. No jargon, no filler.

If there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, reach out. Otherwise, welcome aboard — we’re glad you’re here.
